Fresh Morals and Beastly Fables

I LOVE the book Squids will be Squids. This is a super book to introduce some beginning scene work with young students. There’s dialogue in each short fable and narration that either the teacher can do or can be passed off to more students. And the morals are … well … silly and totally age appropriate.

Stepping Stones

As a theatre practitioner and educator, I am committed to empowering people (especially youth) to skillfully participate in the performing arts as a vehicle to explore their creativity, engage in their community, and think critically about the world.

I also try to teach and model what being a good citizen of the theatre looks like. We support each other. We uplift. We agree that everyone has value in the room. We look each other in the eyes. We are grateful to share our voices and our stories.

I am dedicated to a system of artistic creation whereby members of the community gather together to create a product to be enjoyed as both a creative process and an artistic product. It is with this comprehensive approach, I am able to give my students and my fellow artists the best I can be.
